The Goddess pieces explore the eternal and unchanging body. The body is completely covered in textiles, however, the transparency leaves it fully exposed. The textile is light, and translucent which shows the crossing of vertical and horizontal lines in each layer (fig. 313). The stiffness of the monofilament creates volume in each cell and the lurex gives the see-through knit structure a shine which changes colour from green and pink hues depending on the light environment, referencing the nacre of the seashell.
