The Mother pieces explore the woman's earthly body during the stages of pregnancy. The piece explores a halfway growth and protection. The textile has grown in size since the earlier stage Maiden but is still restricted to parts of the body, especially around the midriff and the chest. The textile is partial knitted with a bone structure of shrinking polyester and cells made of monofilament and cotton, which contains a light coral/orange to dark purple colour gradation. Four knits are semi overlaying each other and go in and out through holes in the structures.
The layers increase the bulkiness and volume without translucency and gather into a solid form which spins around and overlays itself. The spikes which grow from the piece imitate the Lambis Truncata  seashell spiky design. The spikes give the textile a direction through the use of the bones. They create a feeling of self-protection around the form which resembles a pregnant belly, or an external womb, with uneven colour patterns and contrasting bone who resembles veins.
