The barnacle in its simplest form;
A spherical shape with a cavity inside and a smaller hole on the top and a slightly flattened bottom.
Barnacles are a natural part of the summer in the archipelago. Barnacles are water mollusc that defends themselves with sharp edges that cut open the heels and soles of the unwary.It does not attack but instead deals damage to whoever is careless. They are a parasite that grows on other bivalves, rocks, ladders, boats and docks.
They are iconic; "little cuts from barnacles belong to summer..." and so on.However, when you find yourself in the situation of holding up the sensitive sole of your foot and seeing the blood mix with the salt water and run down the shape of the foot, it rarely feels euphoric. You make your way home without shoes and socks.Inside, you swear over the sting and the little parasites that grew right where you were climbing.
Sometimes you don't notice the wound until you get up from the water. The lime walls are so thin that they go straight into the skin like a sharp knife. So you may first notice the wound when you go back over the rocks and leave bloody footprints behind.
